No. The means of heating/melting the polymer is unaffected but by using Soniplas, the melt temperature can be reduced and still mould full parts – resulting in energy and cycle time savings from the reduced requirement for heating and cooling
No. The bespoke Soniplas cold runner system can be installed on any machine and our hot runner system can be incorporated into new or modified hot runners.
We will always discuss the best way of applying Soniplas to your specific polymer grade/tooling/volume density requirements with you. However, we have demonstrated positive effects with PP, ABS, PE, PPMA……..
No. The ultrasonic vibration produces a temporary viscosity reduction effect just prior to/during injection. Physical testing of parts moulded with and without ultrasonic flow enhancement validates no change in moulded part physical properties. Similarly, before and after MFI testing also validates no changes to the moulded material properties
No. The machine can be operated using the standard process if required
The payback using energy savings alone is estimated to be 2-3 years. However, reducing the cycle time provides the opportunity to increase productivity, which could reduce this to under 6 months.
